Arabs end Snorkel run

Week 3 saw some highly competitive games and one landslide victory as 3 teams remain unbeaten in this year’s competition so far.
First up, Honey Badger extended their winning run and kept up their impressive defensive record with a 3-0 win over Scouting for Goals. Scouting lacking a little in front of goal with Geraint Dyment missing through injury. The game was hotly contested throughout and was fairly even overall, with Honey Badger the more clinical at the top end of the pitch.
Another intense match followed, as FC Maesteg picked up their first points with a narrow 4-3 win vs fellow new boys Borussia Teeth. Having lost 2 very close games in a row, Borussia can feel hard done by but they can look forward to next week’s game against bottom of the table Vaders in what should be a springboard for either team to kickstart their season. FC can now look to push on, they’ve shown they have goals in their team and just need to tighten up a bit at the back.
Two-time champions, Crowninthians turned on the style against an overmatched Vaders team still looking for their first goal, running out 10-0 winners after proving too fast, too skilful and too fit. Ben Thomas returned to haunt the Vaders for the second season running with another 4 goals, despite some good saves from stand-in goalkeeper, Gareth Blackwell. The Vaders need to pick their heads up and look to get some goals next week to regain some confidence. The win leaves the Crown with a healthy goal difference at the top of the table.
Our final game saw 2 unbeaten teams, Park Arabs and FC Snorkel, go at it and you could see how much it meant to both teams. Both played their hearts out with plenty of skill mixed in and it was the Park Arabs who came out on top, eeking out a 3-2 win. Snorkel missed their top scorer, Nathan Smith, but still looked dangerous going forward, and despite conceding their first goals of the season, were still tough to break down at the back. The Arabs will look to stop another unbeaten team next week as they face Honey Badger, and Snorkel will hope to get back to winning ways vs FC Maesteg.
Don’t forget, next week we play on Tuesday. See you all then.
