Get ready to Kick Off!
All systems are go for the start of the League this coming Thursday, 29th May. We are waiting for the completed registration of one more team and the league is full and ready to kick off!
Some small changes have had to be made over the weekend, the biggest of which is the switch of venue to the Celtic Astro Turf after being told late on Friday that the pitch at Maesteg Comp is not available on a Thursday.
The Celtic was the original choice of venue due to the perfect pitch size, but worries over the tiny goals put us off. However, we have made the investment to purchase some 16×7 foot goal posts ready for Thursday.
Hopefully the first week will go smooth and everyone will be buzzing for the next game straight after it. We could learn a lot about each team and who looks like being strong candidates for the title of first ever Maesteg Football League champions.
Teams – please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to kick off so that we can complete team sheets and go through any rules/questions you might have. And good luck, hope you all enjoy!
